The seven-time GRAMMY winner is supporting Deutsche Telekom’s Project Futureproof.
Recently it was revealed that more than 1 in 2 European Gen Z-ers are concerned about their post-pandemic futures: facing uncertainties and unknowns in the cultural, social and economic worlds, the generation need some help.
In come Deutsche Telekom and Billie Eilish, teaming up to offer some support to the future generation with Project Futureproof, a “support platform that has been developed to demonstrate the huge potential of Gen Z and help inspire them to identity future careers, as well as uncover skills they do not know they have”.
“The future feels uncertain”, says Billie Eilish, “but I’m always inspired by what our generation is able to achieve in the face of so many different challenges.” And so an international Gen Z engagement campaign is launched, including an optimistic short film – created by Saatchi & Saatchi and directed by Rollo Jackson – that invites young people to “choose utopia over dystopia”.
Set in 2021, a series of sci-fi glitches offers a group of Gen Z a vision into the future, showing a glimpse into how they (and the world around them) have been changed by following their passions. The visual is backed by a flawless version of Billie Eilish’s ‘My Future’, and there’s even a cheeky cameo from Billie.
