Based in a German city of iron giants and beautiful beaches – Ferropolis – just a train from Berlin, for 20 years now the event has opened up a portal into an alternative world. This year, the line-up’s level skyrockets to another dimension with international visionaries like Jaimexx, PC Music’s A.G. Cook, PinkPantheress, Headie One, Little Simz and Peggy Gou. YVES TUMOR
The American genre-breaking and concepts cracking musician, Yves Tumor, a genius-like creature, is the most intriguing to appear on the international scene. Getting more traction with their single, ‘Jackie’, Yves continues to break the sounds down, wield chaos and calamity to extract something quite otherworldly. Exquisite.
EARTHEATER
Eartheater descended from the above to rule over us with a three-octave vocal range, superpowers in experimental production and the mind-bending conceptual work. She’s a goddess coming for the artificial heaven to bless us with the holiest of sounds, dipped in ambrosia with a fiery aftertaste. On her last album, Phoenix: Flames Are Dew Upon My Skin, she’s a sun-kissed warrior rising from past life’s ashes.
CAROLINE POLACHEK
Caroline is a super-star 2.0 and our favourite pop cyborg behind ‘So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings’, who once again went viral with the 2021 single ‘Bunny Is A Rider’. She slays the synth, shaping it into fluid, alternative configurations, reflecting the inner and outer dimensions the artist resides in. Already cracked Billboard 200 with Chairlift and made it mainstream writing for Beyonce, Travis Scott and Charli XCX, Caroline shines the brightest in her solo project. Recently featuring on Flume’s song ‘Sirens’, the artist proves that anything she touched turns into digital gold. Can’t wait to see her shimmer on the stage under the spotlight.
ASCENDANT VIERGE
Ascendant Vierge is the French electronic duo formed by songwriter-performer Mathilde Fernandez and DJ and producer Paul Seul. The group named after the astrological virgin ascendancy is the opposite of order and prudence that it suggests. Their fast-spinning, flamboyant beats with a flair for drama and glam, occasionally flirting with gabber, steal the hearts of anyone in the rave-head and beyond. It’s time to play their debut album, Vierge, on repeat.
SHYGIRL
The co-founder of Nuxxe, a hyperpop super collective also including Coucou Chloe and Sega Bodega, Shygirl is an electronic London sensation. Working with hip-hop, grime and deconstructed club, she’s a genre on her own. Bouncing from freakishly daring to delicately dazzling, she doesn’t have any shy bones in her body. The confidence and risk-taking attitude combined with a killer talent are assets to envy and admire. We’re here to do both.
