Trust us, it’s a good’un

In quite exciting news for fans of pop groups going through a creative re-birth, Australian pop-rockers 5 Seconds of Summer announced yesterday the release of their upcoming third studio album, Youngblood.

The LP is their first effort in just over three years and will be released on June 22nd via Capitol Records.

The release, of course, is preceeded by the release of very good comeback single ‘Want You Back’ which hit number one on iTunes in about 18 countries when it first dropped, which I’m sure you’ll agree is pretty good going.

Speaking about the new record, band member Luke Hemmings said: Growing up is what we had to do on ‘Youngblood’. Seven years as a band may seem like a long time, but we were teenagers when we started. We had to look at each other and say, ‘Are we going to stop now, or do this forever? Because if we continue, then we have to go farther than we ever have before.

But that’s not all!

This Thursday (Apr 12) you’ll also be able to hear the title – and best – track from the album as another little precursor to the main event.

The boys are also performing ‘Want You Back’ on The Tonight Show in the US tomorrow (Weds 11) so that should be fun too.

Listen to ‘Want You Back’ below and cop the title track of ‘Youngblood’ when it drops this Thursday:
