The Punisher is on the loose and Amber Rose Revah is out to stop him. In the eponymous Netflix series, the British actress will play Dinah Madani, an American-Iranian homeland security agent pursuing Jon Bernthal’s vigilante as he makes his way – guns, vengeance and all – across New York City. It is, in the words of Amber herself, “an epic journey” – and the British actress is right at the heart of it.

This is her culture.

On-screen performance:

“Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man. I watched it when I was young and before I understood the magic of what goes on behind the camera. I also love My Week With Marilyn – Michelle Williams is incredible as Marilyn Monroe . I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know (the film’s director) Simon Curtis and he would say how she transforms the second she hears action. I am completely in awe of how she manifests her characters.”

“Anything Queen. Love rocking out with my air guitar to their music in my pjs.”

Way to relax:

“I read lots about alternative healing and psychology. I think we need to slow down the pace of life in the west and take a more holistic view to living. I also like to bake to zen out, and come up random creations to feed to my friends.”

“I wear a lot of Karen Millen  and French connection – my 5ft 11 alter ego loves Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen designs.

European city:

“That’s a difficult one because I love Europe, but I’ll go for Geneva. It has the most stunning lake, a food culture of fondue and is a couple hours drive to the Alps, where my brothers live and I can go skiing.”

“John Travolta accidentally knocked my head with the fake gun we were using in a scene, when we shot From Paris with Love! After seeing I was okay, he took the gun and held it against my head, so I wasn’t afraid for when we rolled again. I think overcoming fears is important, so they don’t hold us back and we can keep experiencing the great things this world has to offer.”

Day off:

“Having a Thai yoga massage and being bent into a pretzel, dancing  & playing board games. Then, some great theatre in the evening.”
