After their new album, Sleep Well Beast, was announced as the album of the week on the official charts, The National began their tour in Edinburgh.
Before they took to the Usher Hall, they played a special Sofar Sounds set, in aid of Amnesty International’s worldwide event ‘Give A Home’.
They played a range of old and new songs, including one my favourites ‘Nobody Else Will Be There’ first, amidst a range from across their repertoire. It was a very relaxed show, but you couldn’t take anything away from the amount of passion lead singer, Matt Berninger, put into his performance, the way he belted out the lyrics throughout his almost two-hour long set, pacing around the stage and interacting with the band, who were on point throughout.
