An Evening With: The Wombats

Formed in Liverpool in 2003, indie-rockers The Wombats returned to Glasgow to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album, a guide to love, loss & depression.

The band held the lively crowd in a trance as they produced perfect renditions of their synth heavy tunes with every single lyric repeated back.

Playing through the majority of the debut album tracks which they were celebrating, like ‘moving to new york’ and ‘let’s dance to joy division’ – occasionally warning the crowd that what was up next hadn’t been played live in in seven years – to hits from the most recent album ‘glitterbug’ like ‘greek tragedy’ and ‘emoticons’.
