The Ash Lad (Matt Shribman) has announced the release of his first solo single ‘Riddles’ on the 16th September 2016. Describing Ash Lad in typical tongue in cheek fashion, Shribman says ‘I often combine music and lyrics to make songs’.
‘Riddles’ was produced by Brett Cox (Jack Garratt & Tusks) and is a delicious slice of singer songwriter indie pop combining echoey vocal melodies with dreamlike emotional lyrics, building to blissful ear-worm chorus crescendos. Shribman takes his influences and references from the likes of The Postal Service, Two Door Cinema Club, Jack Garratt and Bon Iver.
In Shribman’s day-to-day life he creates hilarious science videos for Facebook and Instagram, employing charm and facts to great effect. His extremely successful pages, Science In The Bath and Science In The Shower, have amassed hundreds of thousands of views since their launch just a few short months ago.
