We attended the premiere of A$AP Rocky’s new short film

There’s a certain level of being faded that can only be reached at a Red Bull event. It’s where your usual stimulants of choice pair up with generous helpings of the energy drink and induce the crowd into a sugar-driven euphoria. Your heart rushes while your body and mind compete to catch up. These events are like school discos on speed.

This masterful concoction of experience was therefore the perfect setting to play host to the premiere of Money Man, the 12-minute short film from AWGE, A$AP Rocky’s creative collective. The gritty, northwest London-set piece showcased two tracks from A$AP Mob’s upcoming Cosy Tapes Vol. 1, one of which featured London’s very own Mercury Prize winner Skepta, who also appeared in the film and, true to form, “stayed low-key, stayed ghost” at the event.

The secret Hackney location and the allure of partying with Flacko and crew drew a hyped crowd of London’s young movers and shakers. Luckily we were on hand to get some snaps of the event and witness the debauchery first hand.

If their new music even comes close to creating the adrenaline-rush they managed to conjure up at this premiere, then it looks as if A$AP Mob are going to be giving you wings all through 2017.
