Blaise Moore is a 21-year-old artist from Toronto influenced by a hybrid collection of sounds.
Inspired by the city’s alternative scene, but reimagined within the frames of nu-age r&b, hip-hop and trap, Blaise’s music is as strung-out as it is hard-hitting; as sultry as it is in-yer-face. New single Friends is a swaggering of example of how such a sonic approach can pay dividends.
Taken from the EP Laurence (“about a guy named Laurence from London who only thought with his dick”) the track subverts the idea of Blaise’s heartbreak – she’s empowered, brash, and in no mood to play the victim.
Friends is soulful assertiveness at its most ardent and playful. Check out the video blow.
