Indie-pop beat-makers VITAMIN have given us a boost with their latest dose of summer jam in Dancing On The Sun.
The Leeds four-piece are heading into the studio to add the final touches to their debut album, released early next year but leave fans one last treat, and it’s taken from the archives. Dancing On The Sun instantly bursts in with fresh summery riffs but it’s packed to the brim with nostalgia. Not only is it the first song VITAMIN ever wrote but the meaning behind it is one of sentimental value. “Dancing on the Sun is all about escapism – losing yourself in a club, at festival, whatever it is, in whatever way you want. The idea is that we’re talking directly to our fans saying, we can be your escapism” explains front man Jared Laville.
With a year that’s going at the speed of light for the band, the lyrics ‘You can be anything that you wanna be/ you know I’ve been here before’ couldn’t be more fitting, as their ambitions have seen them supporting The Magic Gang, Kaiser Chiefs and playing to packed out festival crowds. Maybe they should continue to take their own advice because at this rate VITAMIN really could be anything they want to be.
