Kodaline are back with ‘Brother’

The return could be described as bittersweet.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from the Irish band, and their return with new single, ‘Brother’, is stunning. Telling a true story of friendship and love, strength and sorrow, in true Kodaline fashion it rouses emotion in the most painful but beautiful ways.

Raw lyricism, ‘if you were drowned at sea, I’d give you my lungs so you could breathe’, is cradled by almost euphoric production. Twinkling moments are almost washed out by a sense of darkness, leading to the massive pain-fighting chorus that tattoos on the heart.

The track is accompanied by incredibly touching visuals directed by long-term collaborator, Stevie Russell. ‘Brother’ is on it’s way to being a go-to classic.

With a shiver down your spine, but an unexplained warmth, Kodaline will hold you whenever you need it.
