Off Bloom are young, Scandinavian and very, very good.
Since making their name with debut track Orchid, the Danish trio have been slowly gathering a legion of admirers with their brand of intricate electronic pop. With latest single Love To Hate It, that trend looks set to continue – my editor can’t stop playing it.
The track is an atmospheric cut that goes heavy on the hook. It’s moody and unchained, swinging between the aching confessional and musical bootie call. Just when you think it’s settling on conflicted, it gets fun; just as you think its sticking with fun, it jumps back to lovelorn. It’s Robyn meets MØ – and a near perfect pop song.
