Premiere: Jolé releases video for ‘Birds’

Jolé – Josh Oliver to his friends – is a singer-songwriter based in Brighton with a penchant for folk with an electronic nudge. Birds is the latest musical offering from the man in question, and now there’s a video to accompany it.

The track is a sultry, toned-down piece of contemplation, which sees Jolé channel elements of Bon Iver, Sohn and Toothless under his umbrella of nu-acoustic sounds. Birds is a delicate venture in harmonic heartbreak and subsequent recovery.

The video sees a sequence of natural imagery unravel in conjunction with Oliver’s vocals. There’s waves, wind, sand, sunsets – the whole spectrum. It heightens the cinematic quality that comes with the song, constructing an audio-visual atmosphere that assists Jolé in his dainty brand of storytelling. It’s a harmonious coming together, that gives Birds a brand new dimension. It’s a great track, made even better.
