Get up and go with Samm Henshaw’s new up-tempo track ‘Our Love’, taken from ‘The Sound Experiment 2’ EP (Out July 15th). If you’re not a morning person then this new track can change that. ‘Our Love’ is the perfect song to shake you out of those bedtime blues and into a summery soulful mood. Bright, bold and seriously smooth, Henshaw brings you this cheeky number. ‘Our Love’, is available immediately when pre-ordering his forthcoming second EP, ‘The Sound Experiment 2’. At just 22-years-old this South-London born singer has the power to infect your mind with soul-searching, thought provoking lyrics.
‘Our Love’ is loosely based around the love of his parents. The conflicts of interest between when his parents first started to date become the centrepiece to the song. His father was in love with his mother, however his parents did not quite approve. This upbeat retelling makes for an enjoyably sassy listen.
Clearly a talented fella, Samm was hand picked to tour with none other than fedora lover James Bay during his UK tour last year. That coupled with his growing popularity among mainstream radio stations such as Radio 1 and 1xtra and radio presenters such as Annie Mac playing his tunes on the airwaves, it’s clear that Samm Henshaw is here to stay.
There are clear moments during the song where his musical influences can be seen, woven into Samm’s ornately quirky musical style. His ambitious mix of artist inspirations flicker throughout the song, offering the listener Stevie Wonder vibes whilst being stylistically modern in tempo, reminiscent of Frank Ocean.
May is set to be madness for Samm as he embarks on playing a string of sold out shows, one of which being at London’s Oslo on May 25th. This alongside a considerable lineup of upcoming festivals from Barn on the Farm to Live at Leeds. This can only mean one thing: Samm Henshaw is going to be blowing up in the music scene. And wouldn’t it be cool to say you were there first? You can be that one friend who has the latest upcoming artists already on their phone before the hype. So set the trend, feel the music and buy Samm’s new EP now.
