A brilliant re-birth and the first undeniably great album of the year.
It’s always incredibly satisfying when an artist gets it right. So right that everything seems to fall into place and everything that the artist did or was before seems to pale in comparison.
Rae Morris is now one such person. With the release of her second album ‘Someone Out There’ (out today via Atlantic) she’s completed her exciting re-birth and emerges from her chrysalis in 2018 as a fully-formed pop star with a body of work that is meticulously crafted and enthused with a deep love for pop music.
We already know, of course, that Rae Morris is capable of producing great pop music. ‘Do It’ is a majestic precursor for the album and one of the best released last year and it set the precedent for the rest of the album.
Produced by Lily Allen collaborator Fryars, Someone Out There is an ode the journey of finding someone, of looking for love and the repercussions of finding someone and trying to forge that spark into a lasting connection.
It’s euphoric. It’s weird. It’s a little bit heartbreaking.
It’s also the best album released this year so far and is approximately ten times better than Justin so-called Timberlake’s latest effort.
And if releasing an album wasn’t enough, Rae is also going on a tour of the UK. Peep the tour dates down below and get into Someone Out There.
