Selena Gomez takes us to a 70s high school in the video for ‘Bad Liar’

Selena Gomez’s latest video is wonderfully confusing. Switching between four different – and very 70s – wigs, she takes on the role of four different characters.

Five watches in, we’re still unsure of their exact relations.

The video for ‘Bad Liar’ is wonderfully confusing. In fact, it’s actually pretty gorgeous because of that. Washed out colours perfectly highlight the subtle delicacy of the track, and the cliche but lovable high school setting adds a very real twist to the deliciously sweet lyricism.

‘Bad Liar’ samples Talking Heads’ classic ‘Psycho Killer’, and the pulsing bassline leads way to the end of the track which suggests a new project called ‘Fetish’ is on the way.

More like a short film than a music video, we’re desperate to see more.

If the student character has a crush on the gym teacher, and so does her dad. Or if there’s another explanation, one thing is for sure. Selena Gomez isn’t that different to the rest of us, for she also has a crush on Selena Gomez.
