Danish singer/producer SIBA proves to us that it’s notDanish interiors we should be drooling over, but instead it should be the country’s music scene – which is just as vibrant, and seriously underrated.
The Scandinavian is back with I.D.C.B.U., the single from his second, four-track, EP titled My Life With Jessie, My Friends & The Rest Of The World, which will be released on December 9th. Though he’s only shared the one track, there’s already a clear distinction from his debut EP ‘Fruits’, released earlier this year in March, encompassing more of a 90’s synth pop vibe.
Still sticking to his distinct genre, I.D.C.B.U. is the perfect blend of 90’s electro pop taking us back to the days when boy band hits were continuously played on the radio, which is a certain inspiration for him. Whilst his debut EP may have gone a little off the radar, I.D.C.B.U. looks to be the track that gets him the widespread recognition his music deserves.
The single shows us that he is no stranger to carefully mastering electronic music with catchy lyrics. The song starts off with a gentle but gradual instrumental with lyrics that burst once the chorus strikes. Not straying far from the pop we once recognised from his early days, there are still moments in the single that reflect how he has grown, and still is growing as an artist.
It’s a feel-good and bouncy track bound to get you off your feet despite it telling the story of a breakup – it’s simply because the lyrics are very much relatable. This is the mere beginning for SIBA but 2017 shows a promising future for the Danish singer/producer and we look forward to seeing what is to come!
