If you’re looking for a track that’s comforting and damn right beautiful then Skinny Living have you pretty much covered.
Their latest release ‘Let Me In’ has a touch of the James Arthur’s about it.
Delicate melodies glide across cinematic soundscapes. Ryan Johnston holds an intricate falsetto that serenades you throughout its three minute, thirty-five second duration.
Droning drum beats lead into a shimmering chorus that’s not just catchy, but also leaves you tearing up too.
And to accompany such an emotive track, Skinny Living have released a rather romantic video that captures the essence of the track through dance. The video sees front man, Ryan charmingly dancing throughout, as he attempts to fix young girls broken heart. But it isn’t just the tango that we see here. Intimate storytelling through dance captures the songs moving lyrics.
Speaking about the video Ryan discloses, “It’s about loving someone that has been hurt in the past, encouraging them to drop their guard, understanding why they feel the way they do because you’ve been hurt before too. Having the song interpreted in sign language and dance helps emphasise the emotion and meaning of the words, so you can still feel the song, even if you can’t hear it.”
Having recently released their latest EP, 6, on RCA Records. The four-piece from Wakefield seem to be in a stride of their own.
