Neil Armstrong on the moon. The fall of the Berlin Wall. David Beckham banging a free-kick into the top bins from 25 yards out in the dying seconds against Greece. Zayn, god love him, calling it a day with One Direction. All moments that – regardless of where we were then, or where we are now – history will forever remember.
Today, in London, was one of those moments. In an event that trend junkies will recall movingly – grinning gently, with a single, happy tear rolling down their cheek – to their grandchildren decades from now, Supreme and Louis Vuitton announced their collaborative drop with a host of pop-ups all over the world. Hear that? If you listen carefully, you can just about make out the sound of teenage boys begging their mums for a loan.
Following spaces in Sydney, Tokyo and Beijing yesterday, the London pop-up launched at 180 Strand in the heart of the city. Opening from 10am (though hardcore fans could be seen camping up to 20 hours before), shoppers fled in their drones with the hope of getting their paws on some of the seminal gear. Luckily for you lot, our very own Henry Dean was there to capture the whole thing – thankfully, he didn’t get hurt in the process.
