Now that festival season has officially come to an end, there is undoubtedly a craving for live music and the discovery of fresh, new musical talent. The Blogtober Festival 2016, taking place throughout October 2016 at The Finsbury in London, caters for just that. Blogtober consists of nights curated by the most popular music blogs and websites around, ensuring that one experiences an unforgettable night brimming with an eclectic mix of emerging acts. On the 11th October, we will be hosting our own Blogtober night, and following on from the success of the previous tmrw event at The Garage back in May, this one is sure to be an incredible evening.
Bath-based indie-rock trio Farebrother will be opening the night. After releasing their début EP ‘Rapture’ earlier this year, 2016 has certainly been a great year so far for this exciting new band. Armed with catchy guitar riffs and tuneful melodies, songs such as ‘Third Flaw’ and ‘Uptight’ are undoubtedly ones that will remain in one’s head for days on end. Farebrother have recently supported bands such as Baby Strange and will be supporting The Amazons on their upcoming tour. Make sure to catch Farebrother at The Finsbury as they put on an incredible live show and will be showcasing material from their EP as well as new tunes.
Next up, London garage punk four-piece Sisteray will certainly bring a unique energy and unforgettable live set to the tmrw Blogtober night. After recently playing a packed dynamic headline show at the prestigious Alley Cat venue in Soho to mark the release of new single ‘Who R Ya’, Sisteray will certainly bring a vibe like no other. Sisteray bring back the ideals of punk, with politically-fuelled lyrics, powerful guitar instrumentals and an enthusiasm for music that is reflected throughout their head-banging, toe-tapping, passionate sets. This London band will definitely perform an unmissable hometown show, ensure to check them out at this intimate gig before they take over the bigger venues!
Lastly, tmrw’s headliners of the night are none other than the psych-pop band Tempesst. Spitting out carefree soul jams, with a 70s flare, the Aussie twins Toma & Andrea Banjanin plus Jesse Hutchence and Eric Weber, are making their mark in their London home. Fresh from a stand out headliner gig at Moth Club, you can expect bright grooves and intricate textures as they top tmrw’s Blogtober line up. Their most recent single, ‘Broken Down Blues’ has received accolades from the likes of NME & DIY, whilst ‘Tidal Wave’ will take you on an immersive ride full of musical colour that is bound to create a unique atmosphere on this October evening.
