When coming up with the video concept, I was really just looking to portray the greed that music executives often have in this industry. It’s my personal representation of greed & gluttony. As far as the executive Jake sitting across from the actually BabyJake goes, that was all Reggie’s idea. Once they came to me with that final concept I knew it was wrapped on this one.
My personal representation of greed & gluttony throughout the music industry as a whole. I’ve been through a lot of highs & lows already in my short time being an artist & have realized that a lot of things are fucked up in this space. The song is clearly me taking a dig at that & putting it out there. I’m sure many artists will relate.
Oh boy, what a question. Generally speaking, I want to charge headfirst into Rock & Roll. True Rock & Roll. Honestly, I don’t even feel like this record is the full evolution of my sound yet. Sure, artists go through phases… But I really feel like this coming album is transitioning me fully to where I feel most confident in my music. You’ll start to hear the real BabyJake come out.
An album. I’ve already finished the whole thing & we’re planning out the following single releases now. I’m really excited & can’t wait to show the world what I’ve been working on for the past year or so. I went through a complete reboot as a human & as an artist so I feel this will be the first project I fully feel in tune with. Again, super excited for everyone’s ears to get on it & to hear the feedback.
