Rising New York singer and producer Emawk has dropped the new video for his soulful track ‘18’ featuring Hart Denton of Riverdale fame.
Mattias Russo-Larsson directs the video starring teen heartthrob Hart (who plays Chic Cooper on the hit CW show), and it is written and produced by Lewis Atallah. Both Russo-Larsson and Attalah showcase Emawk’s poetic lyricism and dreamy, tender vocals, with the young singer acting as the narrator to a couples’ break-up.
Entirely self-produced in his bedroom, the song – which has amassed over 3.5 million streams so far – is already a huge streaming hit, with its success having caught the attention of Hart.
Impressed with Emawk’s talent, it was the Riverdale star who reached out, and DM’d the singer to suggest the collaborating on the video.
The track – with its slow-burning hazy electronic soundscape – is a break-up song, packed with a deep story and a myriad of emotions, and has gained support from the likes of Majestic Casual, Pigeons and Planes and Beats1
With ‘18’, Emawk- who remains without a label at the moment- has set himself on the path to establishing himself as an undeniably creative talent and a force to be reckoned with.
