Scandi-songstress Lexi Berg is back with another subtly Seventies single.
The success of Lexi Berg’s track ‘What If’ was propelled by its feature in the Netflix film Pieces of a Woman, but the song stands for itself. Now with a host a famous fans behind her, Berg is back with a brand new track – ‘Helpless to Help You’.
Moving away from a more meditative mood of her previous singles, ‘Helpless to Help You’ is riot of colour. It is bright and bouncy and is upheld by smoothly powerful vocals. The track, Berg says, “is about the frustration many of us have experienced, when not being able to help someone we love, it’s about accepting that although we can’t fix everything, we can still be there for them.”
In the run up to her debut EP Empire of One that is set for release this summer, Berg has been enjoying the ecstasy that comes along with making and sharing music. We were able to steal her away to answer our Facing Forward questions and we certainly agree on one thing…we bet on Berg for future stardom as well!
What do you envision the future of music to look like?
The pandemic has forced us to really listen to music. It’s helped us cope and escape. I think our taste in music will reflect that. Perhaps will see more of a variety in the charts and hear different textures on the radio.

What is one change you’d love to make to the industry?
I would love there to be more women in every part of the industry. I think there’s this idea that there is a limited space for women, but there isn’t! We should bring each other up!
If you could collaborate with any musician in the future, who would it be and why?
There are so many musicians I’d love to work with! I’ve always been a fan of bands like Tame Impala and Arctic Monkeys, but also love the vibe of Harry Styles legends like Benny & Bjorn from ABBA.
Where would be your dream venue to play?
I would love to play with a live orchestra in the Royal Albert Hall. It has always been a dream to sing with a full choir.

Who are you betting on for future stardom?
Me? Hah
Where do you hope to be in the next year?
I’d love to reach as many people as possible. Perform around the world, release music and fill the world with joy and magic.
The next 5 years?
Hopefully I’ll be writing and creating music. Maybe I’ll be on my 3rd album. I’d love to make some film soundtracks. Perform at arenas. Who knows! The world is magical.
