First Listen:Love Fame Tragedy - 'Body Parts'

by Malvika Padin

Body Parts’ is anthemic, creepy and perfect for the stage.

Following their first-ever tour with sold-out shows in Liverpool, Manchester and London’s Moth Club, Love Fame Tragedy return with high-energy single ‘Body Parts’ taken from their forthcoming sophomore EP ‘Five Songs To Briefly Fill The Void’ out in February 2020.

Named after a seminal Pablo Picasso exhibition at the Tate Modern, Love Fame Tragedy is the debut solo project from Matthew “Murph” Murphy, singer and guitarist for platinum-selling indie-pop heroes The Wombats. It features a roster of big-name collaborations including Joey Santiago (Pixies), Gus Unger-Hamilton (alt-J), Eleanor Fletcher (Crystal Fighters), Lauren Aquilina, and Maddi Waterhouse among others.

The rhythmic, heavy beats of latest track ‘Body Parts’, boasts an infectious soundscape offset by emotional lyrics as it focuses on the relationship between exhibitionist and voyeur in the digital age.

Described by Murph as “creepy and atmospheric”, the anthemic single is the perfect choice as Love Fame Tragedy ushers in a plethora of new music, collaborations including Dan Smith from Bastille, as well as a 2020 tour.
