Time stands still for the latest Two Feet release.
Amongst the ardent anticipation for his upcoming album, Two Feet has graced us with a new track ‘Time Fades Away’ as well as a jaunty animated video about Max Maco. Who is Max Maco you may ask? Well, you’ll have to watch the visual to find out…
‘Time Fades Away’ is seductively slow and measured. Written during lockdown in the States, you can hear the monotony and melancholia of the months spent inside and that is exactly what New York born singer-songwriter Two Feet wanted to capture. “I needed a way to escape it all. So, I did what I always do and just wrote a song about it. I think everyone was experiencing the same thing where the weeks would fly by and you really started losing your perspective on time as a whole.”
Despite the persistence of the pandemic, the time allowed for some quality creativity. “It really resulted in me being able to write more music than I have ever done in a span of time. I think it came down to a lack of distractions…I was genuinely curious and wanted to creatively go into depth about how without everyday life, time itself can become really distorted.”
You may recognise Two Feet from his hugely viral song ‘Go Fuck Yourself’ which blew up in 2016. It was uploaded onto Soundcloud in the middle of the night and by morning had accumulated millions of streams and nothing can really prepare you for that type of overnight madness. “I had never experienced anything of the sort. Of course, it was both overwhelming and exciting. Looking back, I did try to catch the wave. I was still trying to figure out what my sound was at the moment,so it was tricky trying to follow it up in a cohesive but interesting way.”
You can definitely hear the progression of sounds from track to track, and this latest release only makes us feverish for the upcoming album. It is moody and bassy with a chorus that oscillates and reverberates so smoothly. The guitar bridge ties the whole package together in an agile yet rousing bow.
