Almondmilkhunni is here to help guide you into summer with the "Cherry" remix.
Almondmilkhunni knows her worth and wants everybody else to know it too.
“Cherry” finds the Philadelphia native rejecting “all that fake shit” and a prospective lover showing off material things but coming up short when it comes to giving her what she needs. Instead of long for him, she’s embracing the power she holds to “put the cherry on top.”
The song’s lackadaisical R&B pockets are punched up by Almondmilkhunni’s silky vocals and aggressive lyrics. The unapologetic message is emphasized by Flo Milli’s verse:
You never kept it real so let me get this understanding
Why the hell would I need ya You already did the damage
I never wanted yo money
I stayed down and you went runnin’
Now I’ma play the role
I know that you comin’ home
‘Cause you can’t stay away for long
“I’m so excited to have this remix out,” Almondmilkhunni told tmrw. “It felt like such good timing because quarantine and the pandemic in general is so lonely and depressing and stressful. This song is just about having fun and having that bad bitch energy. Having Flo Milli on the track really takes it to a new level. I want to try to keep it positive and get into that summer vibe.”
“Cherry” originally featured lil aaron and was released on her debut self-titled EP in April. The seven-track project also boasts debut single “Grapefruit,” which has netted just under 965,000 Spotify streams. Listen to Almondmilkhunni in full below.
