FIRST LOOK:
Luna Shadow drops ‘practice’

The track begins with a reminder to check your mentions before descending into wistful, clear-sighted ruminations on love and loss.

A former touring member of New Zealand synth-pop group The Naked and Famous and labelmate of Anna of The North, Luna Shadows makes music rooted in the present. With a voice and a soundscape that demands to be heard, the young singer-songwriter drops her latest single ‘practice’.

Through layered vocals that enhance a skilful musical backdrop, “practice” reassures us that love comes with practice, it is a learning process. It encourages us to let go of the pain of failed relationships, forgive the failures and move on with a smile.

With an impressive talent at reaching into sorrowful experiences without losing her gleam of hope and an innate ability to craft emotive, drenched ballads, Luna isn’t your typical pop darling. She trudges effortlessly into darkness, pulling listeners into the experience, without allowing herself, or anyone else, to wallow in self-pity and gloom.

The track follows the release of singles “lowercase” and “god.drugs.u,” which have received SiriusXM Alt Nation airplay, playlisting on Spotify’s Indie Pop, and more.
