We take an exclusive peek at the Jamaican artiste's new stripped-back video for ‘Stick By Me' and 'Reality'.
Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica and bringing his good vibes to London is Vershon. A unique artist who broke out onto the scene with his hit track ‘Inna Real Life’ in 2015, he’s been making music since day dot. With his unique styles and upbeat vibes, Vershon has quickly become synonymous with good times and infectious music: “I hope people take away vibes and feel good energy from my music,” Vershon tells tmrw, “I want the people dem to feel good. Real Queff style.”
And feel good we do after watching his latest endeavour: an acoustic, sensuous version of ‘Stick By Me’ with a bit of ‘Reality’ too. Highlighting both his versatility as an artist and innovative nature, the two tracks are all about love: love for the self and love with romance. Vershon explains: “Inspiration behind ‘Reality’ was seeing the women embracing dem natural beauty and dem finding their beauty from within and not needing Snapchat / Instagram filters.” Meanwhile, the influence behind ‘Stick By Me’ was “me just seeing the bigger picture and wanting a rider, someone to stick by me thru thick and thin.”
Having just dropped his new EP, Only One, Vershon is showing just how much he’s got to give. When we ask what’s coming next, he teases: “Big tings ah gwarn! I can’t reveal too much, for now take in my ‘Only One’ EP featuring Chip, Trillary Banks, YCee and more produced by The Fanatix.” Count us intrigued, we’ll be keeping Vershon on our radar, and you should too.
