GET TO KNOW:
AG CLUB

Fans of Brockhampton, ASAP Rocky and Odd Future – pay attention.

AG Club (Avant Garde Club) are an up and coming hip-hop collective from the Bay-Area who are entertaining us all with their energetic tracks and incredibly styled music videos.

The creative collective is made up of core members Baby Boy, Jody Fontaine, and Mick Antony, among many others, including a friendly, blue extra-terrestrial (check out the Columbia video). They fell together after finding each other’s talents online and quickly formed the growing collective, and now they plan to take over the world.

Worshipping at the church of Frank Ocean, their music is fresh, exciting and radical. “When we first started making music, it felt like not many people around us were making the music that we wanted to. Everyone was chasing this specific sound that didn’t align with the stuff we wanted to make. Avant-garde art is radical art. Art that’s boundary-pushing, and that’s what we felt our music was.”

Innovation and originality at its finest is the only way to describe these guys. I ask them how to describe their sound to someone who has never listened before and I was told that the “sound is like baked macaroni or day-old pizza straight out the toaster oven…. fire. (or like air fried top ramen)” Sounds pretty good to me…

They tell me that their eclectic influences include Stevie Wonder, Andre 3000 and Pharrell, and they name Frank Ocean as “one of the most impactful artists of our generation.” And, in a recent live YouTube event, they even cited Michael Bublé…! “The Creativity comes from anything and everything around us. Whether that be the homies, our surroundings, or pizza straight out the toaster oven. Anything can inspire creativity in us!”

AG Club’s debut album ‘FYE (F*CK YOUR EXPECTATIONS)’ will be released in Spring 2021. Press play on their latest video for ‘Memphis PT.2’ featuring NLE Choppa and A$AP Ferg below now.
