While we are all in lockdown, and most of us are spending our time scrolling through Instagram or baking banana bread, singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin has penned and released a lockdown record. ‘Six Feet Apart’ narrates the feelings that many people are experiencing in this tumultuous time. His upbeat storytelling lyrics are relatable and the melody, catchy. He says of the track “I wrote this song about social distancing and feeling isolated. I wanted to let people know that they aren’t alone!” – a great sentiment for sequestration!
The track was written and produced over FaceTime and premiered on Social Media. It has already garnered close to 750k views on YouTube in less than a week. Benjamin has been keeping busy in this lockdown period, currently participating in a ‘Virtual Tour’ on Instagram and Facebook live. This record follows the release of “Oh my God” which is the lead single of his upcoming album “These Two Windows” (out May 29th).
His unique voice and narrative lyricism has meant that self-made Benjamin has thrived through social media and has gone platinum on his track “Let Me Down Slowly” and has also worked alongside many of his idols, including John Mayer.
Having supported Lewis Capaldi on his UK Tour, Benjamin is hopefully making his debut Coachella performance at the rescheduled festival in October and will also be announcing new dates for his North America album tour. 2020 will be a big year for Alec Benjamin and for now catch him as he brings live music straight to your home on his virtual tour.
