Having built a name for himself with his first productionin 2016- secured on Solardo’s brainchild Sola – he has gone on to play up and down the country in well respected clubs including Faversham Leeds and Stealth Nottingham.
Talking about the beginnings of his passion for production and Djing, he says,” The passion came around 10-12 years ago when I was first introduced to a program called Reason 4 or 5. Back then I wasn’t making music, was most definitely making 8 bar loops of genre-less noise, and I was doing this non-stop every day. DJing came a lot later around January 2017 where I played my first gig but the spark which made me want to do it initially was going to Parklife Festival in Manchester. Around this time, I saw the likes of Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Richy Ahmed and Patrick Topping; my first time listening to house music and seeing them for the very first time completely changed my life. Literally.”
Moving onto memorable moments in his career, Mason recalls Parklife 2018, where in spite of being his first rave to play at in Manchester, he played to a full crowd. “I played on the Sunday in the Hangar which is 15,000 capacity and I’ll admit I was pretty sceptical as to if anyone would turn up as it was at 1PM that I played but by 1:10 it was at capacity! This one meant a lot as it was hometown support which I can’t be grateful for enough and I also implemented my mum’s heartbeat into the set so that’ll always be a sentimental one.”
But this is only one of many stand-out moments in the rising talent’s career. And he has much more to come in the next year, as he amps to tour internationally- to a few places, he mentions he hasn’t been to before as well release new music which he teases may involve collaborations with some huge artists.
With all his successes and more to come, there is no question that Mason is one to watch in the coming year.
