It is rare to find a band who are actually cool without trying to be cool, but Posh Chocolates really are. Effortless. Made up of front-man and producer Christian Ellery, Sam Osbourne on drums and Robert ‘Bob’ Maguire-Jones taking synth and guitar, this trio have burst onto the scene and are making moves. They were dubbed BBC Introducing ‘Ones to Watch’ for the Manchester music scene in 2020 and are definitely living up to that name so far.
The track itself has punchy lyrics delivered with a sharp Mancunian accent making it sound rough and authentic. Talking about the release, Posh Chocolates explain:
“Dose is born from contemplation about my affliction between addiction and the conviction of a new love interest. Often, I feel love can be the main offender when it comes to provoking feelings of addiction and seeking a dose of someone to replace urges to endeavour in substance is a profound feeling. I’m always seeking ‘company’, whether it be friendship, love, or just turning to the potion. ‘Hide my shady sauce syndrome,’ states the chorus (sadly, already often misheard as ‘sausage rolls’). The question is, to whom am I picking up the phone?”
For fans of The 1975 and Pale Waves, indulge in this perfect Dose of a track, and keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming EP.
