ACW* may be inspired by the structure of uniform, but when it comes to their design, they’re anything but. Samuel Ross’ label, built on British youth culture, refuses to do things by the book, taking a DIY, cut-and-sew approach to luxury fashion. Sure, we’ve seen more brands than you can shake a utility belt at describe their apparel as technical, tactical and tactile: but ACW* are the real deal.

Now, they’ve joined forces with eyewear brand RETROSUPERFUTURE for a second time, known for their handmade ethos and expansive range of contemporary shades. The mini-capsule (pill?) features two models with two variations each, all finished in neutral, mineral tones. First up is the ‘Caro’, an acetate silhouette previously explored in the brands’ debut link-up. Featuring wide in-set lenses and a sturdy frame, it’s available in a marble colourway with sulphur yellow lenses or a concrete stone look with matching lenses.

The new model for this season is the ‘America’, a little more minimal and inspired by urban architecture. ‘America Greyscale 1’ (which admittedly sounds a little like a font) works with earthy tones, while the second variant is a little cooler and lighter, featuring crystal hues and matte greys. Both feature mineral glass tempered lenses, giving them increased sturdiness and a robust finish.

All you brutalist brutes that can’t get on board with tiny Y2K glasses or lothario aviators – this is the capsule for you. Seriously; it looks like the smog-covered skyscrapers of the Big Smoke have been reflected back so hard, they’ve embedded themselves into the frames. Does that make sense? All good if not.
