Maverick luggage brand Sprayground’s new collection is ‘90s-kid gold.
To paraphrase bread-and-butter DJ Calvin Harris – we’ve got love for you if you were born in the ‘90s.
There was something oddly iconic about school during that time – from Britney’s ‘…Baby One More Time’ to Clueless, the decade’s education seems to have been represented by canteen food fights, fierce cliques and faultline-shaking locker door slams.
When the noughties hit, school became more about BBM broadcasts, PlayStation gamer tags and – err – those scoubidou things. Basically, a lot more tragic.
One item that’s stayed, though? The humble backpack. Enter Sprayground – they are masters when it comes to all things luggage, and for their latest collection, they’ve bagged-up a host of classic ‘90s cartoon characters.
Their ‘Back to School’ collection features over 200 graphic backpacks, featuring the likes of classic characters like the Simpsons, Spongebob, Naruto, Street Fighter and Rugrats plus new kids on the block (those pesky Minions and Rick and Morty).
Quite obviously, this collection is aimed at the discerning teen looking to be the talk of the school.
But, then again, we ‘90s kids still share Spongebob memes, religiously watch the Simpsons and get a little too stoned in front of Rick and Morty – so maybe they’re worth a spin in the office, too.
