British luxury streetwear designer Liam Hodges infiltrated Ellesse, and the result is an eclectic collection highlight the best of both worlds.
British designer Liam Hodges delivers his aesthetic of the new generation in collaboration with Ellesse’s sportswear heritage silhouettes yet again for an eclectic blend of both brands’ synonymous details.
This second meeting from the two brands sees Liam’s aesthetic negate conformity of the sportswear model by implementing futuristic detailing reminiscent of the bold colourways and prints of the ’80s. The collection’s designs showcase a lairy stamp of approval, displayed through the form of enlarged co-branding that was seen in the previous AW19 collaboration centred around ski-orientated pieces—tapping into the stylistic cues seen on the piste.
Utilising Ellesse’s blueprint of style-conscious ski apparel, the range features counteracting colour detailing in the form of subtle neon piping that accentuates partnering details.
Filling out the range, Liam has extended his sci-fi inspired prints upon a range of accessories that work perfectly to offset those safer, block-coloured outfits—balancing his daring graphics. However, despite Liam’s taste for deviating the Italian brand’s archive, he’s managed to stay true to Ellesse’s bread and butter of lightweight, versatile sportswear, this time round adapting timeless tennis court models to his vision.
The collection launches for public release at select retailers Friday the 7th of February.
