A love letter to Korea’s capital, via some fresh frames.
Projekt Produkt may not be in vogue with spell-checkers, but elsewhere, they’re keeping the eyewear game very interesting. Their sleek, stripped-down approach to glasses makes for a pair of frames that frame your face, rather than overwhelm it.
Now, they’ve dropped a new capsule titled ‘From Seoul’. The clue’s in the name – it’s an optical ode to Korea’s capital, drawing on its Venn diagram blending of past and present, old and new.
The release celebrates two thousand years of the city and over six hundred as the country’s epicentre. Equally, though, it’s there to shout about its innovations – from K-pop (portable plug: see our SuperM issue) to the city’s sprawling fashion scene.
The aim? To reflect what Projekt Produkt have seen in their home city via the glasses themselves. Four styles are up for grabs – each in a variety of colourways consisting of neutral hues and pretty, Insta-ready blooms of colour.
Each one has a sense of easy, breezy elegance to it, made for switched-on travellers and photo-ready trendsetters. We particularly love the main version of the SCCC2, its sunburst temples and gold-flecked edges taking us on a luxe 70s trip.
Sure, you won’t be able to wear them on a wanderlust-fuelled adventure, at the moment. But whack them on while you’re doing the weeds and you’ll be the talk of the town’s Whatsapp group.
The Projekt Produkt ‘From Seoul’ capsule collection is available now, here. Prices start at $245.
