AX is back, flinging open its trench-coat to reveal a selection of striking new watches.

A watch has genuinely never held as much currency as it does right now. Why? Well, none of us know what the hell the day is at the moment, let alone the hour, minutes, or seconds (though the last is probably a little unnecessarily granular). It’s why we’re delighted anytime a watch release beams into our inboxes, allowing us to daydream of feeling a little more organised and with it, rather than still writing notes on the back of crumpled receipts.

Cue Armani’s younger, cooler brother Armani Exchange returning with a new SS21 watch collection. The capsule is defined by an interest in all things metropolitan, along with strikingly sleek colourways that wouldn’t be out of place applied to the newest iPhone.

The piece to watch is the solar yellow AX2726, finished with an aluminium mesh bracelet, contrast stitching and black and grey details. The light-mustard clock face is the standout piece of design here, feeling a little bit seventies but still modern via its savoir-faire filled silhouette.

For the digital fans among us, the AX2957 leaves Casio in the dirt with slick, negative LCD display, yellow-striped strap, and nostalgic side buttons to add a neat tactility to the main frame. Finishing up the men’s watches is a sports watch in three variations, oozing Italian flair and the kind of piece you could see wrapped around the wrist of a discerning Serie A manager.

The women’s watches, meanwhile, take inspo from modern jewellery, dazzling with rose-gold, silver and gold hues and miniature, sleek cases.
