Supra Launches Innovative Trainer
The Statik

Founded in 2006 by a bunch of world-class skateboarders, the Californian label authentically prides itself in standing at the intersection of footwear and skateboarding: the products are functional, classic and unique. This essence is still present in their newly released collection, but the people at Supra have recklessly explored limitations to provide their loyal audience with an eccentric pair of trainers.

The innovative aspect of The Statik resides in its deconstructed aesthetic: the upper part is made of a premium leather vamp and heel with breathable canvas quarters, enhanced with French binding and a leather patch showing the Supra logo on the inner side. This is all resting on a two-part cushion-rubber sole, clearly enhancing the company’s mission to create comfortable and sustainable footwear. That said, the blending of distinct fabric gives The Statik a refined and futuristic look, confirming the brand’s inclination to push the boundaries and “bring classic design into the modern world” (Supra, 2019).

Available in four different colours and styles, The Statik was made for their owners to be seen, and stand out from the crowd: the combination of its uni-sex silhouette with stripy designs and collated fabric provides a sweet feeling of individuality, putting the spotlight on empowerment and freedom. The trainers evoke memories of sticky, nostalgic summer, and will go perfectly with your chino trousers, baggy jeans or new pair of shorts.

The shoes are now available on the brand’s website as well as in selected retailers around the globe, so make sure to grab yours now to kick the spring season in style. You can watch their campaign video for SS19, below.
