CHANCE PEÑA SHARES A TENDER REFLECTION WITH NEW SINGLE “SONG FROM YESTERDAY”
Breakout Texan folk singer-songwriter Chance Peña returns with Song From Yesterday - a gently powerful new single that captures the ache of emotional disconnect and the silent unraveling of change in someone close to you.
Rooted in folk-tinged acoustic textures, Song From Yesterday explores the spiraling thoughts and subtle unease that arise when a relationship begins to shift. Peña’s signature mellow tone and introspective lyricism offer a raw, moving experience, one that feels as cathartic for the artist as it does for the listener.
Song From Yesterday was produced by Chance and Jeremy Fedryk (aka Sarcastic Sounds), and co-written by the duo alongside artist and songwriter Hayd during a creative retreat in a wintery cabin in Big Bear
Speaking on the story behind the release, Peña shares; “One morning in the cabin I woke up with this line in my head, “I know you lie to keep me safe” and Jeremy was working on something on the computer and we just started writing this in the living room. Hayd woke up a few minutes later and we had the song done not too long after. It’s just a song about overthinking and giving into your rejection issues, I guess. We couldn’t think of a name and just kept calling it the song from yesterday and that’s what stuck.”
Known for crafting songs that explore the intricacies of love and inner turmoil, Chance Peña continues to connect deeply with his continuously growing fanbase through his music. Today’s track follows on the heels of Good Love Die and showcases his evolving sound, one that's intimate, emotionally transparent, and timeless.
After a year of touring, Peña has taken the start of 2025 to step back, reconnect with his surroundings, and pour himself into writing.
Working closely with collaborators who understand his vision, he’s building a new body of work that's rooted in real-life experiences, stripped back in form, and rich with emotional depth.
Hunger - “Chance Peña’s music feels like the perfect soundtrack for a road trip through winding roads alongside crystal-clear rivers, towering trees, and a backdrop of majestic mountains.”
Man About Town - “This mesmerising track marks a new chapter in his ever-evolving folk-pop journey, radiating raw emotion, profound honesty and heartfelt authenticity in spades.”
Wonderland - “Seamlessly blending pop and folk elements with his signature storytelling, “The Mountain Is You” offers an introspective journey of personal growth and change.”
