Diary
I started my day with a coffee and a side of the Dolce & Gabbana Caffeine eye patches to prep my mind and my face for the long day ahead. I then went on to film myself getting ready using all Dolce & Gabbana makeup obviously. Afterwards, we headed to the D&G HQ to have my hair styled alongside speaking to the lovely team, who were buzzing with excitement for what was yet to come at the show. I was feeling pumped yet still calm, thanks to the team who went above and beyond to make this experience fully seamless.
THE SHOW LOOK
The fitting room was filled with the most iconic pieces from the previous ‘COOL GIRL’ collection with a mixture of edgy, chic, and obviously sexy items to choose from. I ended up going with the leopard print dress and a big fur coat to spice it up. Seeing the final look with the hair and makeup, I felt like a cool girl coming home from a crazy night out.
ARRIVAL & ATMOSPHERE
Arriving at any show during fashion week is already an experience on its own: photographers, fans of the brand, celebrities and talent all lined the entrance. It really feels like something from a movie. I was sat next to some lovely talent that I’ve met before so it was a great moment to catch up on all the craziness of fashion week so far. As the show was about to start, celebrities like Gavin Casalegno, Michele Morrone, and Naomi Campbell flooded the front row right in front of me. And to top it all off, THE Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Simone Ashley gracefully sat down in their seats.
And then, the moment. Meryl — Miranda — nodded at one particular look, the faintest movement, yet it sent a ripple through the room. It was as if fiction and reality collapsed: the character who once defined fashion criticism was now part of the fashion moment. Sitting behind her, I felt like I was watching a new page of fashion history being written, one nod at a time.
And the show begins; stunning the audience with the most chic sleep wear I have ever seen. D&G really said: let’s normalise wearing our sleepwear out AND we’re going to make it iconic obviously. A sheer black robe layered over high-waisted satin shorts — boudoir translated into boardroom chic. An ivory silk suit with crystal buttons, worn with nothing underneath but confidence. Each piece whispered of intimacy but shouted glamour.
The applause at the finale was thunderous, but for me, it was the quiet moments — the shimmer of silk under lights, the hush before the music, the stillness of Meryl’s profile — that made this day unforgettable.
Reflection
By the time I returned to my hotel, makeup softly faded, hair undone, dress folded away, I realised: this wasn’t just a show. It was a portal into fashion’s mythology — a day where beauty, film, and couture collided in front of my very eyes.
And tomorrow, when the world sees the images, I’ll remember not just what it looked like, but what it felt like.
