“BABA is a product for a new generation of smart consumers and one of the possibilities to create your own style among millions of choices”
In this day and age, when people have ample opportunity to create their own lifestyle, the world calls for giving up unnecessary things, chemical products and excessive consumption. Every business needs to offer something smarter in line with this challenge and trend.
There are many ways to create style, but we produce for young people all over the world, encouraging them to choose the right style and make a positive choice.
BABA has changed the stereotype that felt footwear is only worn at home. BABA continues to inspire you travelling dressed up with natural feeling and unique creation.
“We have been able to test the traditional felt processing technology used by Mongolians for a long time in combination with modern conditions and opportunities, which has enabled to develop genuinely organic felt material.”
Mongolians have a long tradition of producing felt from the wool and cashmere of their livestock and using it to make nomadic household items such as various quilts, yurt covers, blankets, mattresses, footwear, headwear, vests and other clothing, which was inherited to nowadays. Today, along with the development of production and technologies, felt is also processed industrially. Since wool is a 100% natural raw material, its processing technology should not affect the basic properties of wool.
Therefore, as a result of many years of continuous research to find effective technological solution for felt processing, we have developed an innovative footwear manufacturing process that combines organic felt material production technology and printing technology with manual operation.
Mongolian sheep has a natural compatibility of living throughout four seasons between -40 and +40 Co. And therefore, wool is a living fiber that not only keeps warm, but also protects from heat, i.e. has an insulation feature from both heat and cold.
“Felt is a living fibrous material of protein origin.”
The wool fiber is flexible and varies in dimensions, therefore it is easy for the material made from wool to deform and gain its original form. BABA felt material does not shrink and is easy to care of, thanks to the secret of traditional water-felting technology.
Under humid conditions, wool absorbs up to 40 percent of its weight and generates heat. 960 kilojoules of heat are released from 1 kg of dry wool, so we can say that it is a natural generator of energy. Another interesting fact is that wool is considered as a fire-resistant raw material. This is because 50.65% of the keratin that makes up the outer layer of sheep wool is carbon.
BABA FOOTWEAR
Wearing BABA footwear in combination with a business suit can be part of any kind of reception and creates an elegant and unique feeling. It also has the advantage of being on the list of clothing that is allowed in the Government House of Mongolia.
As determined by scientists and researchers, the color of wool is usually classified as white, red, brown, black, dark brown and/or checkered.
The composition of Mongolian sheep skins is dominated by black-white and yellow-white skins, and in the case of sheep’s wool, only the neck and head area are black and yellow, and the rest of the body or most of it is white. Therefore, for industrial purposes, wool is classified into three colors: white, gray and brown.
Natural colors express calmness and go well with all other colors.
Significantly, white wool accounts for the majority or 45.8-59.6% of Mongolian sheep’s wool. The fact is that white wool is suitable for dyeing any color. Only natural dyes are used to make BABA felt, and non-toxic citric acid is used to strengthen the dye.
